Donna Margaret Bencheck was born on July 7, 1940, in Saskatchwwan, Canada, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Miller) Grexton. She departed this life on Friday, September 5, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years.

Donna was raised on a tulip and daffodil farm in Canada. At the age of 17, she moved to Arkansas, later settling in Texas. She attended vocational nursing school and began her career at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Donna went on to serve in nursing homes, and later at the Fort Worth State School, where she worked with handicapped children-a job she dearly loved. After the State School closed, she continued her calling through home health care, traveling to patients' homes to provide care and medication.

On June 2, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, Donna was united in marriage to Lindell Charles Bachhofer. To this union, three children were born: Patricia "Patty," Nancy, and Chuck. Years later, she married Fredrick Bencheck on December 29, 1982, in Arlington, Texas. They shared 23 years of marriage until his passing on Memorial Day of 2006.

Donna had many hobbies and interests. In recent years, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and paint-by-numbers on her computer. As a young mother, she lovingly sewed all of her children's clothing. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game on television. Donna also adored her cats, especially her two special companions, Asher and Okie. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include: 2 daughter: Patricia "Patty" Kay Bachhofer-Stone and husband Robert of Joshua, Texas, and Nancy Bachhofer-Thompson and husband Joe of Leach, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren: James Kelley, III of Illinois; Teddy Jaco of Rockford, Texas, Donna Jaco of Arlington, Texas, Vance Dorsey and wife Amanda of Omaha, Nebraska, Autumn Bachhofer, Brittany Bachhofer, and Chase Bachhofer, all three of Manfield, Texas; 9 great grandchildren: Ella Christison, Elizabeth Burgess, Valerie Burgess, and Zachary Burgess; Keiron Dorsey, Dorian Dorsey, Bently, Alexis and Zane; 1 great-great granddaughter: Aleiha; 2 brothers: Gerry Grexton and Cliff Grexton, both of Canada; 2 sisters: Arlie Wagoner of Canada and Laura Campbell in Aledo, Texas; 1 daughter-in-law: Lisa Bachhofer of Mansfield, Texas; Numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
