Chris Chappa

Christophor Paul Chappa, age 62, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born on June 3, 1963, the son of Paul Leroy Chappa and Andrea Irene (Dutton) Schneider.

Chris was a hardworking and dedicated man who built his life around family, faith, and community. He began his career as a spill technician with Airborne Express from 1994 until 2000, before following his passion for mechanics as the owner and operator of Chappa's Outdoor Power Equipment and Repair for many years. Through his work, he became known not only for his skill but also for his honesty and willingness to help others.

He was a proud member of the Highland Masonic Lodge #38 F&AM, where he built lifelong friendships and lived out his values of integrity and brotherhood.

Chris had many hobbies throughout his life. In his younger years, he loved the freedom of riding motorcycles. He found peace in woodworking, joy in tinkering with small engines, and satisfaction in creating something useful with his hands. Yet, above all, his greatest joy and purpose in life was being a father. His children were the light of his life, and he poured his heart into guiding them, supporting them, and showing them unconditional love.

Those who knew Chris will remember his warm smile, his steady presence, and the way he never hesitated to lend a hand. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Chris is survived by his two children, Samantha Chappa and William Chappa both of Hillsboro; his ex-wife, Jennifer (Davis) Chappa; his mother, Andrea Schneider of Hillsboro; a sister, Memorie (Kelly) Coder of Hillsboro; brother-in-law, Douglas (Crystal) Davis; sister-in-law, Sharon "Sis" Edmisten; nieces and nephews, Marissa Coder, Kyle Coder, Timothy McCormick, Stephanie Cate, Aaron Cate, Matthew Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Jade Edminsten, Jody Edminsten, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Leroy Chappa.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday October 2, 2025, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
