Chris was born on March 27, 1942, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Andrew Marion and Esther Luella (Senf) Christenson. Chris graduated from Plattsmouth High School before pursuing a nursing degree at Nebraska Methodist College, earning his RN. He exemplified dedication to his country by enlisting in the United States Army on October 28, 1965. As a Captain in the Army Nursing Corps, he served honorably until his discharge on December 5, 1971, including a meaningful posting at Camp Zama in Japan. Following his military service, Chris continued to make a difference in healthcare at the Children’s Health Center in San Diego and took on an executive role with Kaiser. His thirst for knowledge led him to earn a PhD in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, further enriching his life and those around him. He enjoyed photography and won awards for his work. Along with spending time with family and friends, Chris had a knack for tinkering with old cars and antique radios, enjoyed whittling wood, and had a deep appreciation for American Indian culture. One of his most meaningful accomplishments in life was being an ordained minister.

Chris is survived by his wife, Stephanie SkyeAnn Christenson of the home; two children, Donna Lee (Gary) Jander of San Diego, CA and Thomas Andrew Christenson of San Diego, CA, one stepson, Adam James (Kerry) Cochran of Sacramento, CA; and one step daughter, Mariana Leigh Cochran Sprouse of Livingston Manor, NY; six grandchildren, Rachael (Corey), Timothy, Daniel, Braden, Ethan, and Rachel; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by both his parents, and a brother, Willard Merion Christenson.
