Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
Christopher Thomas Culpepper DC LPN, 51, of
Maumelle, Arkansas, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of April 14, 2023. Chris was born September 9, 1971, to parents Charles and Mary Culpepper at Jefferson Regional Hospital in
Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Culpepper, Grandparents, Rev. James and Mildred Beck of
Monticello, AR, and the late Thomas Richard Culpepper and Nellie Mae Mann of Lincoln County, AR.
Chris is survived by his two sons, Willem and Walden Culpepper of Little Rock, Arkansas; his mother, Mary Carolyn Beck Culpepper; his brother, Brian Culpepper and his wife Cristina Scarlat, and his niece, Clara Culpepper, of
Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Chris participated in many team sports such as football and baseball like many Gen X kids do and was a 1989 graduate of White Hall High School. From there, he carried the bulldog pride, fighting spirit and compassion for others into his career as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), serving as a compassionate caregiver to many throughout his life. He demonstrated his true bulldog grit, spirit, and determination when he battled cancer with grace and dignity over these past few years. During his lifetime, Chris helped many others regain their health and happiness with professionalism and passion. We're grateful.
After high school, Chris enrolled at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville for two years covering pre-requisites before transferring into Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1995. Chris was a life-long learner and resided in Little Rock, Arkansas practicing his craft. He also studied Psychology and Nutrition at the University of Central Arkansas and Pulaski Technical College and earned his Nursing LPN in December of 2014 from Baptist Health Schools in Little Rock, AR.
Chris surrounded himself with good people who kept him smiling while attending music festivals and gatherings with his extended family. He lived and practiced within the Little Rock area and shared his love of sports and music with his two children early in their lives. He was quick to admit that both boys quickly surpassed his hobbyist/skill levels in both guitar playing and various team sports! Chris loved this and was so very proud of both for becoming fine, young leaders within their schools and at church.
Chris was blessed with the best lifelong friends anyone could ask for and he played a starring role in many hilarious memories as they grew up in Jefferson County, Arkansas. A mid-eighties memory from White Hall's Little League Baseball season comes up frequently. Chris was always a 'little bit stronger' than some peers and for his age so his pitching speeds were quite prolific in those days His control of the strike zone, however, lacked the precision he later developed in his chosen profession. His best friend Georgie tells this story often, "Back in one Little League baseball game, young Dr. Pep was on the pitcher's mound; hurling three consecutive speedballs into the back, ankle and the shin of opposing team batters; a concerned baseball mom yells from the bleachers, " take him out, He's a killer!". Times sure have changed since the 80's, but Chris' good friends will keep that comical story and countless others alive for all who knew and loved Dr. Christopher T. Culpepper DC. Here's to being pain free, My Brother! We love you; miss you already and will keep you in our hearts and minds until we meet again.
