Obituary of Chris Deffenbaugh
Christopher Bradley Deffenbaugh, entered this world on August 31, 1954. He was the son of Margie Deffenbaugh and Glen Deffenbaugh (deceased).
He passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the age of 69.
He had lived most of his life in Carlinville, IL, attending elementary through high school where he graduated with the class of 1972.
Chris was a talented musician spending most of his years playing in various bands. He also operated a music shop for seven years.
In 1978 Chris married Kim Miller of Auburn, IL. Although they later divorced, with the exception of a couple of months the have been together 45 years.
Survivors include his mother, Margie, Kim Miller, a daughter Becki and son Glen; a sister Jude (Steve Bywater) Jones of O'Fallon, MO, and a brother Robert (Meloney) Deffenbaugh of Chatham, IL. He has several grandchildren, including Kingston who lived with them, and Waylon. Also he has several nieces and nephews. To sum up Chris' personality. he lived in his own world, was a quiet person but a deep thinker, and he fought a good fight to the end.
No flowers but donations may be made in his name to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL.
There will be a private family service at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, is in charge of arrangements.
