My condolences to the Gedney and Patton families. I am very sorry for your loss. Chris was a great guy. I still remember playing Tekken with him years ago when we were working on sports projects back in Cleveland. I'll always have fond memories of him and am comforted by the memories I have.

While I am unable to be there in person, a part of my heart will be in Syracuse the next few days with the Gedney's and the rest of my Syracuse Orange family to mourn and lay Chris to rest. I will miss my friend, but take solace in the knowing his life made the world a better place.

I have so many fond memories of Chris and his family hanging out in the backyard and going for runs in the neighborhood. He had a contagious smile and fun loving attitude. He will be dearly missed.

Im so sadden by Chris's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Chris and his family. I first met Chris at Syracuse Uninv. A room mate and I were walking to class down Euclid ave from Redfield Pl. Chris got off a bus to go to class and I sd "yo Chris"....He was a frosh and I sd im Eric "Moose" from FM. I was friends with Philcox, Drummond, Kane, Ingram and I told my rommie ...this kid going to be a TE stud!!!Fiesta Bowl 1993 with my brother RC and Marcus Lee and Chris!!! Awesome!! And Chris sure was a player and a heck of a nice good guy!!! Years later Chris came back home and worked at SU. I re introduced my self on a away football game charter in 2008.My Dad Rick, and I had a lot of fun with Chris and Matt Park at away games. Mary Dunham, Matt Palumb and Chris were a great Orange Pack office!!!! And Coach Ben and Coach Mac have a couple great TEs in John Mackey and Chris Gedney in heaven!!!! God speed Chris.....Thanks for being YOU!! Missed and not forgotten. #84!!Flag we love Orange!

I graduated Liverpool High School with Chris in 1988 and was in English class with him in our senior year. Although I was in AFJROTC, Chris treated me with respect and always smiled and said Hello to me whenever we saw each other especially when I was in uniform. I continued to follow Chris' football career all thru my military career. I will miss his smile and his caring nature.
