Mr. Christopher Clark Hoop, 53, of Grenada, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born October 28, 1971 in Grenada to Rual Vernon Hoop and Brenda Joyce Shaw Hoop. Chris honorably served in the Mississippi Army National Guard since he was 18 years old and currently worked as a Federal Technician at the Camp McCain Training Facility. Chris embarked on two overseas tours of duty and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. Known by his friends as "Pops" he took great pride in teaching others and helping people learn and grow. Chris enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and was considered by most to be a master mechanic. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Scobey Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his daughter, Mackenna Sing of Nesbit; three sons, William, Aaron and Ethan Hoop, all of Grenada; mother, Brenda Hoop of Springfield, MO; and three brothers, Barry Hoop(Doris) and Randy Hoop(Gail), both of Tillatoba and Darryl Hoop(Cindy) of Springfield, MO.

Chris was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Galen Smith.

CW2 Chadwick Davis, SGT Nathaniel Perry, SGT Larrynko Aldridge, 1SG Mike Taylor, SSG Jeffery McKenzie, SSG Travis Shaw, SSF Jonathan Connerley and CW2 Don Adams will honor Chris by serving as pallbearers. CW4 Kim Ralston and CW4 Jerry D. McCullough will serve as honorary pallbearers.
