Chris Nagy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc. and Crematory - Oakdale on Dec. 8, 2025.
Chris Alan Nagy, 67, of Oakdale, Collier Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at St. Clair Hospital.
Chris was born on February 20, 1958 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ellen Smith Nagy.
Chris was a retired IT man for PNC Bank in Pittsburgh. He had a special love for trivia and he was always on a mission to win. Once a week Chris and a group of his friends, affectionately called the "Grumpy Old Men" would get together at Rockefellers restaurant and play trivia together. He loved being with the guys and after a couple of years when the wives joined he even enjoyed that. Many laughs were shared and memories made all gathered around the tables. Chris was also a passionate cyclist always advertising on the trails. He loved the time outdoors and in the wide open.
Surviving is his loving wife of 43 years, Holly Schedin Nagy, daughters, Amber and Kristen Nagy, sister, Bonnie (late Wes) Harrist, nephew, Daniel (Mindy) Harrist, niece, Zoey, brother-in-law, Steve (Julie) and sister-in-law, Jil, niece, Deirdre and his cat, PeeWee.
Along with his parents Chris is preceded in death by his siblings, Joanie and T.J.
A Celebration of Chris's life will be held on January 3, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., Carnegie. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800).

I am so sorry to hear of this. Chris was always the best whenever my dad had him around or when he would bring me over to visit when I'd be out running errands with my dad. One of my favorite memories growing up is going to pirate games with my dad and one in particular was one we attended with Chris. We were cheering on the Buccos and every time they showed a certain crowd hype up cartoon of a guy on a train shooting out of the smoke stack I can just remember Chris yelling "WOOO WOOO" with the guy on screen louder than anything I've ever heard in my life. It still cracks me up to this day every time I think about it. Chris was always so joyful and an absolute pleasure to be around and was always there for my family when we had our own times of need. If there is anything we can do please reach out. We are here for you guys in the same way you were here for us.

Chris was a wonderful person to work with as his positive energy radiated through the office every morning. He loved to laugh and to create a laugh. He was a bright light that uplifted everyone around him through his kindness, humor, and just genuine personality. He did not know a stranger. Although he had just started working with us not long ago, he greatly impacted everyone here and his loss is felt deeply by us all. Our greatest sympathies go to his family.

Chris's smile did not change. Seeing Chris smile can't help one feel happy. No words can express the sorrow we feel. Keeping Chris, his family and everyone affected in our prayers.
