Chris "Congo" Stevens, age 61, of Boaz, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 6, 1964. Chris was a friend to many and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He devoted countless hours to his community, coaching through the Boaz Rec League in basketball, softball, and baseball, where he guided and encouraged young athletes both on and off the field. He had a big heart, a love for people, and enjoyed sharing laughter with those around him. Chris was also an avid Auburn fan and loved watching NASCAR. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Tracy Stevens; son, Eric Stevens (Jess); grandchildren, Brodie Stevens, Channing Stevens, Dallas Stevens, Taylor Allen, and Ryleigh Moody; and his brother, Kevin Stevens (Samantha). Chris was preceded in death by his father, Ray Leroy Stevens; mother, Ellen Ruth Stevens; son, Dakota Stevens; daughter, Natasha Stevens; grandson, Noah Moody; and sister, Lisa Stevens. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, in the chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Aroney Community. Pallbearers will include Landon Schoggins, Logan Schoggins, Avery Ross, Josh Roden, Jeremy Roden, and Justin Word. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m.
