Christa Gertrud Plum of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025. Christa was born on January 11, 1937 in Konigsberg, Germany to Gertrud Lina Gutzeit (nee Glitza) and Heinrich Gutzeit. Early in her life, Christa's mother and her escaped the war in the East and moved West meeting her husband, Josef Plum of Aachen, Germany many years later in 1953. After their courtship, Christa and Josef were married in Aachen, Germany on October 27, 1956 and moved to the United States of America in December, 1957 where Christa worked within various domestic positions and Josef as a Shop Foreman at Downtown Motor Sales- an early Volkswagen and Porsche Dealership- before both her and Josef achieved their dream of U.S. Citizenship in March, 1963.
Christa was proceeded in death by her husband, Josef Plum, in May 2005 and by her mother and father in May 1992 and April 2003 respectively, as well as Rolf Effinger- her brother-in-law- in August 2009. Christa is survived by her son, Mark Anthony Plum and his wife, Wilvia Imara Plum of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by grandson Christian Lau and his wife Sophia of Guam, their daughter- Christa's great-granddaughter- Ousamelia, and granddaughter Wendy Lau of Houston, Texas. Additionally, Christa is survived by her sister-in-law, Josefine Effinger of Oklahoma City and sister-in-law Hilde Effinger of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephew and niece, Michael Effinger and Monica Townshend and their families of Oklahoma City, and Christa's brother Klaus Gutzeit, wife Gabriela, and their son- Christa's nephew- Sascha, of Wuerselen, Germany.
Christa was a member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church and was regarded as kind, joyous, and compassionate; a lady of personal conviction, integrity and honesty. She took pleasure in gardening, cooking, and taking care of the many dogs whose companionship she enjoyed over her many, many years. She will undoubtedly be missed by all who were fortunate enough to be graced by her presence.
A Wake will be held (**time, date, place**). Funeral services will be held (**time, date, place**), with internment immediately following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. We would also like to present special thanks to the Integris Health Cancer Institute, Integris Baptist Hospital, Integris Hospice, personal caretakers Carmen Sandoval Esparza and Rocio Lopez-Oliva, and the staff at Baptist Village of Oklahoma City for their compassion and support during these most difficult of times.
