It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the tragic loss of my beloved brother, Christian Colon. His life was cut short in an act of senseless violence, leaving us all feeling in shock and disbelief.
Christian was a vibrant, energetic individual who touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a quick wit, a contagious smile and a heart full of love for his family and friends. He was a bright light in our lives, and his absence will be an unfillable void.
Growing up, Christian was a curious, adventurous soul, always eager to explore the world around him. Starting his youth in Haiti, he loved going to the beach and the mountains (Furcy) and exploring new little corners of heaven. He was the most social person I knew and made friends with so much ease, but he would not open up easily to people, and only a very few had the privilege to know the real Christian. As he grew older, his social nature kept developing even more. He had the ability to work a crowd and be the life of any social event. He also became a very generous and loving soul, especially to his daughter Penelope, who meant the world to him.
Christian is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Penelope Colon, Jessica Massad, his father Jean-Edouard Colon, his mother Karin Colon, his sister Sandra Wells and her family, and his cousins, aunts and uncles Salge, Etheart and Taddeo. He will be deeply missed by his many friends who cheriched his kind heart and his infectious laugh.
The circumstances of his passing are impossible to comprehend but we take comfort knowing he's in a better place and his memory will live on through the countless memories we shared with him and we will continue to celebrate his life through stories, photos and countless ways he touched our lives.
Rest in peace, our sweet Christian. May your memory be a blessing to all who knew you.
Visitation and Funeral arrangements:
A visitation will be held at St John's XXIII Catholic church, Fort Myers, Florida, on July 25th from 10:30am to 11:00am. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The burial will then follow from 12:00pm to 12:30pm.
