Christianna "Shanna" Wright

Ms. Christianna "Shanna" Wright, age 80, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on November 30, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia on September 17, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey Wright and Kathryn Mae Crosby Wright. Ms. Wright was a lifelong resident of Cook County where she was a member of Adel United Methodist Church. She was retired from the Cook County Board of Education where she served as a high school and middle school counselor. She was also retired from from the Department of Family and Children Services where she served the community as a social worker.
Ms. Wright is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Sherry Wright of Acworth, Georgia; two nieces: Kim Brown and her husband Sam of Acworth, and Kristen Gates of Kennesaw, Georgia; four great nephews: Connor Gates, Cooper Gates, Nick Brown and Ben Brown; many cousins; her close friend, Carol Greene of Adel; and her friend and caregiver, Brenda Jones of Adel.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Woodlawn City Cemetery in Adel with Rev. Thomas Parrish officiating. A visitation will take place from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Monday at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.) immediately prior to the graveside service.
