Christie Ann Wielkerwicz

Christie Ann Wielkerwicz, known affectionately as Christie to her friends and loved ones, lived a life that was as radiant as the sunrise on a clear morning. Born on November 30, 1982, in Pontiac, Michigan, she grew every day into a person who exemplified love, selflessness, and friendliness. Christie's journey on this earth came to an unexpected close on October 31, 2025, in Southgate, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.
With a spirit that soared as high as the skies, Christie embraced the wonders of life with open arms. Her love for the beach was more than a pastime; it was where she felt most at peace, with the sand between her toes and the horizon stretching out before her. Camping under the stars, kayaking through quiet waters, and traveling to places yet unexplored were the adventures that fueled her soul. Christie's love for animals, especially dogs, was a testament to her boundless capacity for love and care.
Christie's family was the compass that guided her heart. She is survived by her longtime companion Matthew Grech and devoted children, Cameron and Kyrstin Grech, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her mother, Andrea Wittersheim, her siblings, Jennifer, Hollie, and James Wielkerwicz, her cherished grandmother, Dorothy Wielkerwicz, her in-laws Sharon and the late John Grech. will forever hold Christie in their hearts. Her father, the late James Wielkerwicz, whom she adored, surely welcomed her with open arms. Her grandson, Colton Grech, will grow up with stories of his grandmother's kindness and warmth that will inspire him throughout his life.
To be in Christie's presence was to experience the warmth of a true friend. She had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel like they mattered, that they were seen and heard. Her selfless acts, whether big or small, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
As we reflect on Christie's life, let us remember the words of Maya Angelou, "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." Christie was indeed that rainbow, a beacon of hope and happiness in the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy is not one of sadness, but a celebration of the positive impact she made on this world, the lives she touched, and the love she spread.
