My husband and I frequented Su Case for many years. When they opened the Greek restaurant on Westwood Avenue we went there as well. Restaurant businesses are a natural for Greeks who come as immigrants. Who doesn't love Greek food? The speciality pastry that Christina made that you don't find in Richmond are diples, a fried folded dough with honey syrup and walnuts sprinkled on to, found in bakeries in the Peloponnese. Thank you for making these in Richmond! Your memory will be eternal in the minds and hearts of your children and grandchildren, their dear Yia Yia.

Christina, along with her husband Ulysses (who passed a few years ago), were my bosses at a small Mexican restaurant in Richmond called Su Casa. I worked there part-time as a waiter while I was in college in the late ´90s. In true Greek fashion, they could be tough on me-but just as much, they showed me compassion, care, and love. I used to ask Christina how she made her Greek dishes; she´d give me the evil eye and tell me not to worry about it, but eventually she´d come around and share her recipes. Their four kids were always so kind and welcoming as well. I will never forget Christina or her husband, Ulysses. My heart is heavy and I wish George, Tim, ViVi, Pamela as well as the whole family my deepest condolences and love.
