Christina, of La Plata, Maryland, transitioned peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by those who love her.
Christina was known for her courage and strong will, qualities that defined her life and inspired everyone around her. She faced life’s challenges with determination and grace, never wavering in her strength or conviction.
Christina graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1993 and continued her education with dedication and purpose. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management, and later a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education, reflecting her lifelong commitment to learning and service.
Her education guided her on a journey rooted in a deep love for children. Christina began her 33-year career caring for children as an Assistant Teacher and went on to hold several leadership positions, including Director-in-Training, Educational Coordinator, Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, and two Director roles. At the culmination of her career, she proudly served as the Director of the Senate Employee Childcare Center, a role that embodied her passion, leadership, and devotion to early childhood education.
Christina devoted herself to her faith, to raising her beloved daughter, Christiana, and to spending time with family. A true momma’s baby, she shared an enduring bond with her mother. Among her siblings, Christina was lovingly known as “the snitch,” a title remembered with laughter and affection.
Her joys included loving on her fur babies, Hunie and Bentley, reading, arts and crafts, growing plants, and gathering with family for food, fun, and poker—moments that reflected her warmth, humor, and love for togetherness.
Christina is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Holt; father, Luvert Harris; and grandparents, William O. Smoot, Willie Harris, Dorothy Smoot, and Patsy Harris.
Christina is survived by her daughter, Christiana; brother, Joseph (Tangie); sisters, Melissa (Michael) and Rita; stepfather, Mike; aunts, Veronica and Gracie; cousins, James, Lisa, Cindy, Ricky, Tracey, Erica, Carla, Derek and Kasey; nephews, Robert III, Rodney, Joseph, Tyree, and Stephen; nieces, Brenee, Isis, Indya, and Tatyana; great-nephews, Robert IV, Rodney Jr., and Ryan; and great-nieces, Zoey, Imani, Jordyn, Siya, and Nadia.
