With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christina Hernandez Martinez, who left us peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of her children, siblings, and all who cherished her.

Christina was born on July 24, 1950, in El Paso, Texas. At 18, she married the love of her life, Cruz Martinez, beginning a long and loving journey that lasted until his passing in 2007. Together, they raised four children: Jessica McCreary, Cruz Martinez III, Linda Harsla, and Andrea Martinez.

Christina was a devoted Head Start teacher whose passion for nurturing young minds touched countless lives. Among her greatest joys was being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and embraced every moment spent with them. She is lovingly remembered by Xavier, Mario, Maya, Cruz, Bella, Rin, Kai, Jayden, and Ariana-each of whom brought her immense pride, laughter, and joy.

She was known for the happiness she found in music and the warmth she brought to every family gathering. There was nothing she loved more than spending the day cooking and listening to her favorite songs, surrounded by the people she loved.

Christina is survived by her siblings Patricia Bosquez, Tommy Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, and Casimiro Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Cruz Martinez Jr. and her dear son Cruz Martinez III and we find comfort in knowing they are now reunited.

We will celebrate Christina's life with a service on Monday, October 6th at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary at 5:00pm located at 6900 E Bell Rd Scottsdale, Az 85254. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a cancer research organization of your choice.
