Christina O'Shea, age 101, passed peacefully on July 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and her wonderful caregivers. Chris was born in Consett, England on January 11, 1923. She emigrated to America at the age of five with her parents, Catherine and Patrick Slane and family.
She married the love of her life, Jeremiah (Jerry) O'Shea in August 1944. She was affectionately known as "Chrissie" by countless friends and family members. She will be greatly missed by her five children, Terrence (Carol) O'Shea of Nipomo, CA; Eileen (Robert) Cameron of Indialantic, FL; Patricia O'Shea of North Falmouth, MA; Geraldine (Mark) O'Shea of Jackson, CA; Christina (Timothy) O'Shea Heydinger of Bayfield, CO and by her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a ray of sunshine who was always quick with a smile and a laugh, was an avid reader and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her friends and family.
After Jerry returned from WWII, he and Chris made their home in Ridgewood, New Jersey where they raised their family. They vacationed each summer at Ocean Beach, New Jersey and later, on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. After many years in Ridgewood, they moved to Hillsborough, New Jersey, and then retired to Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. Widowed in 2005, Chris eventually sold their home and moved to Buena Vida Estates, a retirement community in Melbourne, Florida. There she enjoyed the company of many friends and her "baby" brother, Terry, and was well loved and pampered by the staff. She had a strong faith and attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Mary, Mother of God churches in New Jersey, and Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Florida. She volunteered in their thrift store for many years. Chris served on the Board of the local health department in Ridgewood, and later as Welfare Director for Somerset County, New Jersey. Chris was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Jeremiah, and her sisters, Margaret and Kathleen.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation for the loving care that our mother received from the staff at Buena Vida and for the caring services of Wuesthoff Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice & Palliative Care. 8060 Spyglass Hill Rd, Melbourne, FL 32940, in her name.

We were sorry to hear the passing of Christina, but know the angels were smiling and welcoming her back to Heaven. My husband David and I have been very close friends of Bobby and Eileen since a chance meeting with them when they invited us to join their table on a cruise. We fell in love with their quick interesting conversations and laughter. We will be blessed to visit them in August. David and Susan Kleine

I'm sure Christina was a beautiful and admired lady because we know her daughter Eileen, wife of Bobby, is an equally lovely and wonderful lady also. My husband David and I met Bobby and Eileen on a cruise ship many years ago and have remained terrific friends ever since. They simply invited us to share a table with them on one of the first days of the cruise. Looking forward to seeing them in August. Susan & David Kleine

She was an amazing story teller. I loved how expressive and detailed she was, weaving in tid bits of juicy gossip while keep you engaged in her story. She was a bright light and a true legacy. I´m honored to have known her

At her grandson, Patrick's, wedding. She kicked off those heels and put on the flip-flops at the reception. She stated that she was comfortable now.
