Christina Mae Wojciechowski, age 81, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the University of Chicago.
Christina was born on May 24, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Chester and Antoinette (Guska) Szelung. She graduated from Mother of Sorrows High School, Class of 1962. On September 3, 1967, Christina married the love of her life, Kenneth Wojciechowski, in South Holland, Illinois. Together, they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Christina dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a proud member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Christina found joy in life's simple pleasures-cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs, watching her son Steven pitch for the Oakland A's in the 90's, traveling, gardening, spending time at the beach, especially the Indiana Dunes and Gulf Shores, hiking, and visiting the Smoky Mountains, which held a special place in her heart. She especially loved Chicago – visiting the many sights, shopping, and eating at her favorite restaurants throughout the years with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; her children: Mary (Tommy) Faust, Steven (Stacey) Wojciechowski, Cathy (Joe) Sanders, Joey Wojciechowski, and Terri (Paul) Norwine; seven grandchildren: Beecher (Shelly), Nate, Aaron (Erica), Genna (Wes), Grace, Katie, and Maggie; and two great-grandchildren: Copeland and Brighton. She is also survived by her brother, Greg Szelung.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lori Anne Wojciechowski; and her sister, Arlene Johansen.
A private funeral service and mass will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Christina's name to the American Cancer Society [https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=honormemorialbutton&lang=en].
