Christine Bacon Obituary

Christine Pyper Bacon, our angel wife, mama, and grandma, passed away on August 15, 2023. She lived and she passed surrounded by love.
If you knew Chris, you loved her because she first loved you. She lived with a singular passion for all things virtuous and lovely, from the simplest of pleasures, like sunshine on her shoulders, to the deepest of joys, like living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
She especially rejoiced in her circle of loved ones-and her circle was endless because all were invited. Her love was uniquely deep and powerful for her husband, her children and their spouses, and her grandchildren. She showed and taught and showered them with a love that could only be divine. And her love was most powerful for her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Twelve years ago, Chris first felt the effects of severe health challenges that would slowly spiral into worse conditions and even worse complications. A core part of her legacy is the miracle she performed by turning that long and excruciating process into an awe-inspiring masterclass in living-and suffering-beautifully.
Over the span of nearly twelve years, many of her life-long passions, such as singing, musical performance/directing, athletics, swimming, and simply basking in nature, were slowly taken from her by her health. But as her physical body declined, her spirit and her character never would-and never did. Those who were blessed to watch and feel her journey could only marvel that her ever-growing suffering could and would never outpace her ever-growing passion, humor, "gratitude attitude," grace, and love.
We will always give thanks for the true gift of Christine Pyper Bacon.
Chris is survived by her "eternal hero and champion" husband Bill Bacon; beloved children Christian (Melia) Bacon, Carianne (Jason) Mitchell, Casey (Stacey) Bacon, Cherie (Steve) Barton, Cami (Tyler) Vach, Chad (Talisha) Bacon, and CJ (Jenna) Bacon; and siblings Lee Pyper, Lorene Winters, Lon Pyper, LouAnna Schick, Amee Guy, Aaron Pyper, Lance Pyper, and Lynelle Harmer. She is preceded in death by her parents, LouCylle Reneer Pyper and Kenneth Lee Pyper.
A viewing and funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 303 W 3700 N in Provo, Utah. The viewing will take place from 9:00-10:45AM and the funeral at 11:00AM.

As I just found out Sept 6th, I am so sorry to read of this news about Christine. I worked with Christine at Mr. Swiss when we were still in High School. We would do a polka dance in the parking lot of Mr. Swiss. Although it was not far, I gave her many rides home as I did not want her walking home at 11pm. Sure wish I knew where she had lived as I would have visited at some point.

Chris one of my dear friends and we performed together all through High School at Edgewood. We also went to Seminary with our other Latter-day Saint friends. I haven´t seen her for years but knew she was continuing to be a force for good in her family. Much love to them.
