Rockport – Christine Marie Brister passed away on May 1, 2025. She was 58.
Christine was born on December 25, 1966 to Donna (Gerwitz) and James Bartnik in Buffalo, New York. Christine was a loving wife, mother, yaya and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents: Jim (Shari) Bartnik and Donna Gerwitz; and In-Laws: George and Sue Brister.
Survivors include her loving husband of thirty-eight years: George Brister from Rockport, Texas; daughters: Heather Brister (Christian), Heidi Nguyen and Heather Singleterry (Chris) all from Rockport, Texas; Son: Adam Guinn if Portland, TX; grandchildren: Skylar Brister, Drake Guzman, Maddox Guzman, Serenity McNatt, Kai Nguyen, Braylee Nguyen, Danii Guinn, Albert Guinn, Harold Guinn, Zaidee Beadnell and Harper Beadnell all from Rockport, Texas; Brothers: James (Jim) JR, Alfred (Bud), Brian, Jerry, and Ron; Sisters: Peggy and Rhonda.
Christine proudly served in the United States Air Force, where she met and married her husband, George Brister a month later. Her time in the service shaped her strength and commitment, qualities that she carried throughout her life.
Family was the cornerstone of Christine's world, and her love shine brightest for her family. She was a constant and enthusiastic presence in their lives, always participating in their activities and showering them with affection and thoughtful gifts. Her joy was found in their happiness, and she made every effort to be a part of their journey.
Beyond her family, Christine had a remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel like they belonged. Her warmth and generosity extended to all, and she was always there to offer support and a helping hand to anyone in need.
She had a variety of interests that brought her joy, including a love for gardening and unique collections of Betty Boop, dolls and John Wayne memorabilia. These hobbies reflected her diverse passions and added to her unique character.
Christine was part of the community with girl scouts and school functions as well to help volunteer her time.
Christine was also a courageous cancer survivor who faced her health challenges with incredible strength and resilience. Her spirit and determination remained an inspiration to all who knew her.
Her kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and her generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her."
Visitation will begin Saturday, May 10, 2025, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home in
Aransas Pass, Texas. Funeral service will be held the same evening, 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
