Christine Burner (Leis) 53, Sturgeon Bay WI, passed away on October 31, 2024, after a battle with cancer. She passed at the Jack & Engrid Ming Hospice Care Center in De Pere, WI with her son spending hours with her as he could. Born in Nurnberg Germany to Klaus and Waltraud Leis. She pursued a career in sales and management. She married David Burner, a US Army soldier, when she eventually moved to San Diego, CA.
Being creative in sewing, she often made costumes for her children and others when she could. She even worked as a seamstress for the premier of the onstage play "Jersy Boys" at the La Jolla Playhouse. Working at a local Kmart, she began to move up in responsibility. Wanting to move to a cooler climate, she and family moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI. She continued to work in sales with Wal-Mart. Also moving up in the store management.
Married for 24 years, she decided to move on with her life and pursue time with her boyfriend Kevin Lee. He was with her at the time of her sudden passing, so she was not alone. Remaining a good and loyal friend with her ex-husband and many others, she will always be missed by everyone.
She is survived by her son Erick Burner.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. James Gomez officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.
