Christine "Tina" M. Gooding, 64, of Quincy, passed away at 1:20 pm Friday, January 3, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Tina was born on February 12, 1960. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Her biological mother was Dee English, who named her Mary Ann and put her up for adoption. Tina was blessed to become the daughter of Milt and Mary Lou Reichert Ragar, who named her after the beautiful song "Tina Marie" by Perry Como.
She married Roger Gooding on May 2, 1981, in St. Dominic Catholic Church in Quincy, Illinois by the Rev. Louis Shea.
A proud graduate of Quincy Senior High School in 1978, Tina was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Her career spanned various roles, including positions at A&W, Illinois Farmers Union, Kuester Tool and Die, and as a beloved daycare provider. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many children and families throughout her career.
Tina's interests were a reflection of her love for life and her family. She found great pleasure in spending time with her loved ones, listening to music, and engaging in word searches and Sudoku puzzles. Her passion for entertainment was seen in her enjoyment of movies, TV shows like Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Law and Order: SVU, and various game shows. Tina also cherished the connections she made on Facebook, where she interacted with friends and shared moments of her life. Her spirit, a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her, will forever shine in the memories we hold dear.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Gooding; two daughters and her sons-in-law, Robin Mathews and her husband Mike, and Danielle Terstriep and her husband Jake; four grandchildren, Madison Mathews, Emma Mathews, Gabe Terstriep and Gwen Terstriep; a brother, Terry Ragar; a nephew, Michael Ragar Barnes; all of Quincy; and two great nephews, Greyson and Bryson Barnes of Iowa.
