With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Sullenberger family announce the passing of our kind, brave, caring and unimaginably generous wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Christine K. Goodrich Sullenberger, suddenly on October 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Christine was born in Rome, NY to Kenneth and Betty (LaHue) Goodrich on November 6, 1946.
She was a graduate of Corning-Painted Post West High School and studied at Highland Hospital School of Nursing where she received her associate's degree in nursing. She began her career as a registered nurse at Corning Hospital. For over 26 years Christine worked as a pediatric nurse dedicating her life to helping others. She spent the last 15 years working as an internal medicine nurse. Her selfless nature and dedication to her profession touched the lives of many.
Christine loved to shop and purchase jewelry. For many years she and Richard raised Australian Shepards. They shared a common love for animals.
She is survived by her husband Richard Sullenberger of Beaver Dams, NY and daughter Amy Sue (Joe) Clark of Gloversville, NY; grandchildren Amanda Clark and her daughter Sophie of Gloversville, NY, Erin Clark of Gloversville, NY; sister Nancy (Mike) McLaughlin of Hornby; sister-in-law Claire (Ray) Lines of Corning, NY and Sandy (Pete) Alekseiunas of NH; nieces and nephews Maggie (Julian) Dalton, Julie McLaughlin, Jess Baker, Justin Kuhn, Ken (Jill) McLaughlin and Jason (Ashley) McLaughlin; her cats and dogs.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in Christine's name may be made to: Bampa's House, 170 E First St, Corning, NY,14830.
