Janice Vivian Roloson

Janice Vivian Roloson, age 82, of Corning, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 15, 2025. She was born on February 14, 1943, to Floyd and Elizabeth Root.

On September 9, 1960, Janice married the love of her life, Lyle Roloson. This year, they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage-a testament to their devotion and love. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and the joy they shared in the Lord.

Janice was a longtime and faithful member of Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY and Resonate Church in Land O' Lakes, FL, where she cherished worship, fellowship, and service. She worked in the activity department at Elcor Health Services for over 20 years, where she brightened the lives of residents with her creativity and care.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle; children, Paul Roloson, DeWaine (Denise) Roloson, and Stacy (Andy) Hoyt; siblings, Beverly VanEtten and Dawn Carey; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Thomas Root, Carol Kniffin, Donna Bunting, and Alfred Root; and her daughter Robin Roloson.

Janice lived a life full of creativity. She inspired many with her music, art, and joy. She enjoyed playing the accordion and dulcimer, singing with friends, painting, and sewing. She was especially known for her collection of hats and for her laughter-a sound that brought light and joy to everyone around her. Above all, Janice will be remembered for her deep love for Jesus and her unwavering love for her family.

Family and friends are invited to Calling hours from on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, led by her brother-in-law, Rev. Ted Roloson, and grandson, Rev. Josiah Roloson, at Haughey Funeral Home, 216 East 1st St. Corning, NY. 14830.

Janice's family takes comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in the presence of her Savior, and her legacy of faith and love will live on in all who knew her.
