Christine Sue Harris

Christine Sue Harris, 75, was called home on October 11, 2025. Born in Chester, PA on February 7, 1950, Christine's greatest joy was spending time with family. She grew up in Dover and was a proud graduate of Caesar Rodney Class of 1968. She worked at L.D. Caulk in Milford for many years before acquiring a Business Degree from DelTech in 1990. She was then employed by the state of Delaware. She was a Supervisor at the Division of Corporations, retiring in 2013.
Christine had many hobbies, including counted cross stitch, scrapbooking and watching Jeopardy with her Granddaughter. She had a creative knack for decorating and took much pride in her home. She took delight in road trips and attending different tea rooms in the area. She relished her time with the Steel Magnolias, her red hat group since she joined in 2022.
Christine was an avid reader, which was evident in her book collection and many subscriptions to newspapers and magazines. She also took pleasure in shopping and collecting "all things French". She was known for her extensive McDonald's collection, which was enjoyed oy her nieces and nephews, especially her McDonald's drive thru.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Anne S. Harris and Charles R. Harris, Sr, as well as her brother, Mark. Christine is survived by her daughter, Alicia Deese, and her Granddaughter, Ila Deese: two sisters, Louise Andrews and her husband Jon of Magnolia, DE and Melissa Miller and her husband Gary of Harrington, DE, three brothers, Rev. Jeffrey Harris and his wife Gloria of Thomson, GA, Kevin Harris and his wife Cheryl of Clayton, DE and Charles Harris, Jr. and his wife Traci of North Port, FL. She is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E Lebanon Road (Rt 10) Dover. Visitation will be from 1pm - 3pm with the service at 3pm. Burial services will be private at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
The family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice or to Meals On Wheels.
