He found joy in travel and reading – pursuits that reflected his inquisitive nature and desire to explore the world both near and far. Whether discovering new destinations or delving into the pages of a favorite book, Larry embraced each opportunity to broaden his perspective and deepen his understanding.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura Jay Gabbert.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Michael Gabbert; daughter in law, Shoshannah Moyer; and granddaughters Emelia Gabbert-Payne, Terra Gabbert, and Selene Gabbert.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Torbert Funeral Home, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, Delaware. The viewing will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00. Burial will follow at Barrett's Chapel Cemetery, 6362 Bay Rd., Frederica, Delaware.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire a spirit of wonder and discovery.
