Christine A. Johnson, 92, of Danvers, formerly of Hudson, NH, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Carlton A. Johnson, who predeceased her in 2003.
Born in Lowell on December 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Alice V. (Murphy) Curran, the third of fifteen children. She was raised and educated in Lowell and Chelmsford and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School.
In her earlier years Christine worked as a bookkeeper for Raytheon then became a devoted and loving wife and mother. She lived for many happy years at their home in Hudson, NH. where she was a communicant of Saint Kathryn's Parish.
After the passing of her beloved husband, she moved to Danvers where she spent much time with her daughter and grandchildren. She became a parishioner of Saint Richard's Parish.
In her youth, Christine enjoyed ice skating and visits to Hampton Beach. Later, she enjoyed many trips to Ogunquit and winter travel with her husband to Myrtle Beach and much time spent in Florida.
Christine leaves her daughter, Lynne Robinson and her husband Gary of Danvers, her grandchildren, Lauren Chapman and her husband Dan of Cambridge, Jennifer LeBlanc and her husband David of Georgetown, and Nicholas Robinson of Danvers; her siblings, Alice Finlay, Margaret Belken, James and his wife Carol, Maureen Aspell, Catherine Gail, Sheila, Donna Salyards and her husband John, William and his wife Pam, Susan, and Dennis Curran, sisters-in-law Marcia Curran, Jo-Ellen Carr, and brother-in-law Jon Johnson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary, John, Thomas and his wife Kay, Patrick Curran and brothers-in law, Joseph G. Finlay, Les Belken, Thomas Aspell, Jay Johnson and his wife Virginia, sisters-in- law Debralee Curran, Gloria Toothaker and her husband Roger.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11AM in Saint Richard's Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Tewskbury. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00-10:30AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
