Christine Lowes

Christine E. Lowes, age 76, of Harborcreek, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025. She was born in Erie on May 6, 1949, daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Lowes.

Christine was a 1967 graduate of Harbor Creek High School. She worked most of her career in the hospitality industry. Christine was a member of the East Erie Moose Lodge #593 and loved all sports pertaining to Pittsburgh, the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. She enjoyed going for car rides, watching ice skating, was an avid reader and loved going to "Camp Now". Christine especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Christine is survived by her significant other of 43 years, David Nowakowski; five children: Tina Holmes, Thomas Buterbaugh (Patty), Carrie Jo Bednaro (Larry), David Nowakowski Jr. and Kari Longley (Rob); three sisters: Karen Mosher (Paul), Beverly Cass (Eugene) and Judy Putnam (Scott); eight grandchildren: Ronald Thomas Demchak (Jordan), Thomas (Katie), Daniel (Sarah) and Ashley (Tyler) Buterbaugh, Troy (Kelsey) and Zach (Sabrina) Horvath, Danielle Griener (Ehron) and Derek Nowakowski (Kallasia); 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Amy Weber.

The family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice and Walnut Creek Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Christine.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd.) on Monday, December 1st, from 3 PM until the time of the Funeral Service there at 6 pm.
