Christine Marie Miller, 55, passed away surrounded by loved ones just before sunrise on Friday, August 8th in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Born in the spring of 1970, Christine was the eldest daughter of Phyllis Longoria and Herman Willis of Alexandria, Louisiana. She was a proud Willis and adored her family. For the last three decades of her life, she was a resident of New Iberia, Louisiana where she built a loving family of her own, a career as a registered nurse, a business, and a very long list of friends.
Christine was an exceptionally talented baker and the owner of La Baie Cakes. Her love language was feeding people, and she was happiest spending the day creating in her kitchen. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a lifelong athlete and softball player. She loved working in her garden, LSU football, and reading her bible every morning.
Above all, Christine was a proud Christian and the embodiment of the spirit of generosity. She was the first person to offer help, no matter the cost and regularly opened her home to anyone in need. Christine had the gift of making family out of everyone she met. She was incredibly strong and a fierce friend. She will be remembered for her loving service to others and her resilient spirit, especially by those she took in when no one else could.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis “Diane” Longoria and Herman Willis, and one son, Gabriel.
She is survived by her husband, Rusty Miller; her children, Taylor Moore (Aaron), Jacob Delcambre (Kayla), Sydney Delcambre, Kylen Moresi, Kennedi Moresi, and Malix Alsdurf; and her grandchildren, Holly, Natalie, Katara, and Auden. She also leaves behind 7 younger siblings, Lisa, Jeromy, Heather, Jessica, Carrie, Toni, and Otis “OJ”, in addition to her beloved cousin, Anna, who was like a sister to her.
