On Thursday, May 15, 2025, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away at her residence in Savannah, Georgia.
Christine Elizabeth Moffit was born on February 19, 1937, in Franklin, Virginia. She was the third born child of Elmo and Marie Moss. She had ten siblings: three brothers and seven sisters. Upon graduating from John Bartram High School in Philadelphia in 1955, she worked as a salesperson at the Blooms Boutique for eight years.
Christine met her beloved Willie through mutual friends, and they married on November 20, 1960. They were blessed with one son, Stephen. They provided a loving, secure, and joyous home for him in Philadelphia.
Christine loved children of all ages and gave generously to many for their birthdays, graduations, and many other special occasions. She especially had a love for the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which she supported faithfully.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and six sisters.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Moffit (Cathy) of Savannah, GA, her grandson, Julian Moffit of Huntsville, AL, one sister, Vera Stith of Philadelphia, PA and one brother, William Cherry of Philadelphia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Ervina White Beauford Funeral Service PC 2134 Stenton Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19138. A graveside and entombment will be held at 2:00 pm at West Laurel Hill Cemetery 215 Belmont Avenue Bala Cynwyd, PA. 19004
