WOLCOTTVILLE - Christine L. Mossburg, 75, of Wolcottville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born on July 7, 1950, in Bluffton, Indiana, to Clarence A. and Mary Lou (Hankins) Mossburg.
Christine devoted 43 years of her life to teaching first grade at Wolcott Mills Elementary School in Wolcottville. She was a caring and dedicated educator who left a lasting impression on countless young lives. Her kindness extended far beyond the classroom - she never met a stranger and loved reconnecting with former students throughout the community.
In her retirement, Christine found joy in helping others, often driving her Amish neighbors to family gatherings and special events.
She was an active member of Open Door Community Church in Wolcottville, where she taught Sunday school and cherished the fellowship of her church family.
Surviving are her three brothers, Steve (Dona) Mossburg, of Wolcottville, Bruce W. Mossburg, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Brian K. Mossburg, of Bluffton, Indiana; a close family friend, Marsha Bartrom, of Wolcottville; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Hollister, of Wolcottville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence in 1987, and Mary Lou in 2023; and her sister, Gail Hollister in 2024.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ken Muck officiating.
Viewing will also be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday.
A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren, Indiana.
Memorials may be made in Christine's memory, to Open Door Community Church.
