It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Christine Kelly Pelto, affectionately known as Chrissy, who left us on the 1st of February, 2026. Chrissy was born in Macomb Township, Michigan on the 2nd of September, 1970, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family in
Sachse, Texas, following a series of strokes. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and indelible memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Chrissy's life was a testament to her passion and dedication, both personally and professionally. After graduating from Lutheran North High School, she went on to earn an Associate Degree in Finance/Accounting from Macomb County Community College, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in the same field from Walsh College. Her expertise and commitment to her career led her to a fulfilling role as Treasurer at the Bank of New York, where she was not only respected for her professional abilities but also loved for her humor and generosity.
Chrissy lived her faith through her actions, exuding love and thoughtfulness in every aspect of her life. She was the beloved wife of Christopher Pelto and the loving mother of Tiffany Pelto, who were the center of her universe. Chrissy was the heartbeat of her family, which includes her brother Terry Ziola, sister Sherrie Demeniuk, brother-in-law Joe Demeniuk, sister Karen Ziola, and brother Teddy Ziola. She was also a cherished daughter-in-law to John and Linda Pelto. Chrissy was preceded in death by her parents, Norm and Gloria Ziola (nee Oehmke).
Chrissy's zest for life was evident in her many interests and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She was the life of every party and social gathering, with her laughter and energy lighting up the room. An avid player of cards and board games, she also enjoyed going out to dinners, movies, and traveling to various cities. Her love for amusement parks and the serene beaches of the Caribbean was well known among her friends and family. A fan of television sitcoms, romcoms, police procedurals, medical dramas, and game shows, she relished the moments of relaxation in front of the TV. Chrissy had a particular fondness for garage sales, finding treasures and bargains that she would share with those around her. Moreover, her creative spirit shone through in her scrapbooking and crafting, which allowed her to capture and cherish life's precious moments.
To describe Chrissy as passionate, loving, and thoughtful is to only scratch the surface of who she was. Today, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit and kind heart touched everyone she met, and her absence will be profoundly felt by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Her memory will forever be enshrined in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
