Christine Salavantis Obituary

Christine K. Salavantis, 73, formerly of Cheshire, passed away July 19, 2025 at the Landing at Laurel Lake.

Born in Adams, MA on October 24, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Aldo and Helene Koszelnik Belini. She attended Adams schools and was a 1969 graduate of Adams Memorial High School.

Christine married William H. Salavantis on May 29, 1971 at Notre Dame Church in Adams. He predeceased her in 2002.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Salavantis was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire. in October of 1969, she was the Fall Foliage Queen of North Adams. She enjoyed baking, yard work, her dogs and cat, but most of all, loved spending time with her family. She was especially devoted to her granddaughters.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. Smith and husband James of Pittsfield; son, William M. Salavantis and wife Katherine of Cheshire three granddaughters, Gracie Smith, Maggie Salavantis and Elena Salavantis.

Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rachel, Cherie, Mary, and the wonderful staff at The Landing for the care and compassion Chris received over the last few years.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, Thursday July 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home, 121 North State Rd, Cheshire, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Brain Tumor Association in care of the funeral home.
