Christine Schiltz, 71, of Ponca City, OK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was surrounded by her loving family. A Rosary Ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City, OK, officiated by Father Alex Kroll. Christine will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Born on Friday, July 9, 1954, in Newark, NJ, Christine was the beloved daughter of James A. and Audrey E. (Staatsberger) Begley. She graduated Ponca City High School in 1972, where she was a part of chorale, the swim team, and the high school tennis team. She became a state champion in tennis doubles in 1971 and 72, under coach Wally Smith. She married the love of her life, Patrick Schiltz, on May 10, 1975, at St. Mary's Church, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Chris was known for her loving spirit, sharp wit, and deep faith. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and was actively involved with her community, working at United Way and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Chris loved spending time in her garden, sewing beautiful quilts and cooking elaborate meals for her family at her favorite place, home sweet home on Lake Ponca. A true Lake Girl through and through, she lived for fishing, boating and floating in her tube. Her favorite season was Fall but her absolute favorite time of year was Christmas, and boy did she know how to do it big.

Christine is survived by: her husband, Patrick Schiltz of the home; children: Sarah Carr (Ron) of Vail, CO, Charlie Schiltz, of Ft. Worth, TX, Julie Watts (Joe) of Edmond, OK, and Tommy Schiltz (Taylor) of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren: Hayley, Conner, Kayci, Marin, Bo, Van, Karlee, Lane; and great-grandchild, William. She is also survived by: her siblings, Laurie Wedd (Dennis) of OK, Jim Begley of TX, Andi Loudermilk (Scott) of WA, Kate Medvedoff (Steve) of CA, Matt Begley (Brenda) of MI; brother-in-law, Kurt Palmer of OK, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe Schiltz (Jennifer) of OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Audrey Begley; sister, Pat Palmer, and her in-laws Joe and Patricia Schiltz.
Christine's life was a testament to faith, service, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
