Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home - FreeportChristine Sue Stucky, 51, of Freeport, IL, passed away Tuesday September 30, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 1, 1974 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Douglas A. Stucky and Kathleen (Mudore) Stucky. Christine was a registered nurse for 12 years, which included working at Lena Living Center, Wesley Willows, and Parkview Home. A natural born caregiver, Christine had a real passion for being a nurse. She was a naturalist that loved her oils and stones. Christine also loved to read and take care of her plants. She had a fascination with sky and even considered herself a storm chaser. Her family will remember her for her sense of humor, her ability to find the beauty in everything, and her love for animals, especially her love for her dog, Cooper and cat, Jack.
She is survived by her son, Noah Gill of Freeport, IL; sister, Belinda (Kenneth) Kostenbader of Freeport, IL; uncle, Greg Mudore of Freeport, IL; aunt, Dawn Mudore of Freeport, IL; two nieces, Jacqueline (Brent) Lofgren of Freeport, IL, Sami Kostenbader of Freeport, IL; cousins, Kacey (Ryan) Seal of Freeport, IL and Rochelle Mudore of Freeport, IL; boyfriend, Shawn Nelson of Thompson, IL; nephews, Andrew Lofgren and Chandler Hefner, and niece Demi Hefner; close family friend, Alex Schreiber of Augusta, GA; and her beloved dog and cat, Cooper and Jack, and many family and friends she loved dearly.
Preceding Christine in death are her grandparents John and Doris Mudore, uncle John Mudore, her parents, and niece Trinity Lofgren.
A celebration of life will be held starting at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 11, 2025 at the Freeport Moose Lodge, 440 Challenge Street, Freeport, IL 61032. A luncheon will follow. A memorial has been established in Christine's memory.
