Christy Wetzel passed away on October 24, 2025, at the age of 41 after a long battle with a rare autoimmune disease. She is predeceased by her grandparents John and Rita Wetzel, Louis and Rose Buccella; Uncle Dennis O'Neill; and Aunt Joy Wetzel.
She is survived by her mom and stepdad, Donna Wetzel and Tom Zigon; dad and stepmom, Jim and Annemarie Wetzel; sister Jen Van Buren; stepsisters, Christina Julian (Nick Presutti), Briana Julian; nephews Hudson Van Buren, Riley Van Buren; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends in NY, NC, and TX
Christy was a special daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Family was so important to her as her love was unmatched. Speaking to her friends, many of them considered Christy their best friend. Just a hint of what a good and caring friend she was.
Christy was an inspiration to all who knew her. These thoughts were expressed by numerous friends and family. She stayed positive and fought so hard over numerous hospital stays in the last 16 months. Her determination was undeniable, and she fought till the end.
Friends may call on November 8, 2025, from 3-7 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services INC (3325 Winton Road South, Rochester, New York 14623). In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to National Scleroderma Foundation (P.O. Box 411533, Boston, MA 02241-1533)

No matter the time or the day I had a blast with Christy I will miss her yelling at me to do my homework, and to not go do karaoke. I loved how ready she was to go anywhere and party with the rest of us. Christy aka Rose (my Golden Girl) will always be remembered and my heart can't replace ya and will always remember ur laugh

Christy, you were such a joy to know. We became friends through Jessi and our friendship blossomed over the years. I remember when I went to Dallas for my birthday weekend one year and we weren't able to meet up but you sent me to the most amazing restaurant and sent me to a part of the city I never would have thought to explore. I loved seeing you when you came to Charlotte, we always had so much fun. I will miss the video chats, even when you couldn't speak I always tried my best at lip reading and it made you laugh. You're one of the strongest people I know and you remained so positive and cheerful even when life wasn't kind to you. I'll always laugh at a dad joke because of you. You will be missed so much xoxo
