George Arland White

George White, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on 10/22/25. He is predeceased by his parents, Arland and Josephine, and brother Thomas White. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara Kwarta; sister Jo Ellen (Eric) Askloff; children Glenn (Maura) White, Chris (Sabrina) White; grandchildren Hannah, Molly, Evan; step grandchildren Spencer, Wesley, Logan, and Lyla.

George grew up in Sodus, NY. He pursued a year of study in Germany as a high school student and developed a lifelong love for the country and language. Upon graduating from SUNY Cortland, he taught German and French, but he was most proud of developing his own successful business, the Rochester Consulting Group, providing executive development to numerous companies throughout the Rochester area.

Having fallen in love with Keuka Lake, he taught himself how to sail and treasured the time spent in its beauty and tranquility. George was always ready to enjoy the pleasure of happy hours with friends, gatherings with family, oysters, and fine food and spirits. He loved to travel. George had an incredible sense of direction and always found his destination through intuition. He developed an interest and respect for astrology, enjoyed golf, and in later years, genealogy. He liked to read about history and biographies of historical figures. He is remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his generosity, and the counseling he provided to so many people. The highlight of his last year was planning and taking his family to Germany.

Calling hours will be held at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. (3325 Winton Road South) on SATURDAY November 1, 2025 from 10-11 AM with a celebration of life to follow at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George's honor can be made to the UR Hospice Care Team.
