Christine Fyans Wind left this world on April 27th, 2025, at the age of 55.
She was born May 23rd, 1969 at the Queen of Angels Hospital in Hollywood, CA to Joseph & Carol Fyans while her father studied dentistry at USC.
Christine is survived by her sister, Tiffiny Silver Fyans Duncan (Kenny), her brother Joseph Clark Fyans (Danielle), and her brother Clark Silver Fyans, as well as her nieces, Sophia Modesta, Gabrielle, and Evangeline, and her nephews, Davis and Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She loved animals, and had a beloved dog, Einie, for many years. She skied, played the flute, loved jazz and all music.
She was bright; her smile and laugh lit up the room. Christine had a flair for the creative, imbuing all of her ventures with artistry and meaning. The depth of her emotional life was matched by her keen intellect as well as her sense of humor.
Christine graduated from the U of U with a degree in Psychology. She studied NLP and other self-help modalities, and loved to coach her friends and family. She built a thriving AirBnB business, beginning with a Capitol Hill duplex where her family dwelled when she was a young child, built by her grandfather Ezra Clark Silver. The relationships she built with returning customers, and the remodeling and interior design of her rental properties were a source of pride and joy to her.
Christine inherited a green thumb from her Grandmother Modesta, and tended to gardens she visited, skillfully rooting out weeds and giving gardening advice.
In the last several years of her life, Christine owned and operated a boutique hotel in Spain, where she also hosted friends. She particularly enjoyed the Andalusian horses in her region of Spain.
Christine had suffered with type 1 diabetic complications for most of her life, as an autoimmune reaction from a childhood inoculation. She participated in an experimental Islet Cell Transplant Program in 2010 thru 2012 where she underwent two Islet Cell Transplants. She was a model patient and experienced relief for a time, but ultimately the transplants failed. Her participation helped advance the program.
She went to diabetic camp during summers in her childhood, learning to live with her condition, and made lifelong friends at these camps.
Christine will be missed dearly by her friends and family. May she be at Peace.
Funeral Services were held at Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City and she was laid to rest at Wasatch Memorial Park.
