Obituary of Christopher Eric Barr
This isn't your "normal" obituary. How do I describe my younger brother to you that has lived with me almost all of my life and with my husband and kids for almost 20 yrs? So here goes, trying to sum up my younger (taller) brother to all of you. We would love for you to share your memories and thoughts with all of us if you are lead to do this on the "Tribute Wall". I know it would bless my family to read how Chris made an impact on your life.
Christopher Eric Barr, known as Chris Barr, was born on January 1, 1969 in Inglewood, CA to Brook and Betty. Chris died on March 9, 2023 in Federal Way, WA.
Chris grew up in his early years in Southern California in Placentia until he was in his early 30's when he made the decision to move to WA State to be with his family.
Chris loved sports growing up and played soccer, baseball, and football in high school. He loved to umpire baseball and help coach kids playing the same sports he loved to play at their age.
He was a huge fan of the (CA) Angels, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and loved watching the UW Huskies. Another one of his life long passions was motocross. He loved riding dirt bikes when he was younger and loved going to Motocross shows at stadiums when they were in town.
Chris had many different types of jobs growing up but the area where he had the most experience in his latter years was working as a Security Officer. He worked in downtown Seattle for over 10+ years with Securitas. Chris was an employee that loved working with his coworkers. He was dependable, loyal, and covered extra shifts if someone needed help and couldn't work for whatever reason.
Chris was a quiet guy and when he wasn't working, he was content to hang out at home with his family.
Chris never married but is survived by his mom, Betty Fuller (Phil Fuller, stepdad), Leoda Barr (step mom), his older sister Cindy (Jim) Russell, niece Haylee Russell, nephew Zach Russell, half brother Jason Allred (Michelle), nephew Aidan Allred, niece Avery Allred, step brother Danny (Jennifer) Fuller, step sister Rachelle Nares, Danny and Rachelle's children and grandchildren, Jamie's kids and grandkids, and relatives on the Barr side.
Chris is preceded in death by his father Brook Barr (6/2021), his grandparents on both sides, his stepbrother Jamie Fuller, and his Aunt Denise Altman.
Chris was a guy that we will always love and remember him by his little words but his goofy jokes, names he would call Haylee and Zach, his love for our pets, and his love for people. Chris will always be remembered as the one that could stay pretty calm and it took a lot to make him angry but if he saw someone being bothered, he had no problem stepping in and asking that person to stop and move on.
Chris will be greatly missed and we will always have you live on in our hearts. Chris, you made a difference in this world in the sphere of life where you lived for 54 yrs whether it was in school, work, at a medical office, or in our family. We are better off for having you in our lives and you are now whole and enjoying life to the fullest in heaven with Jesus.
