Christopher Brown

Christopher Brown was born on October 15th, 1971 in Chicago IL (Cook County) to the late Adolph and Gwendolyn Brown at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was the youngest of seven children. Chris growing up on South side (84th and Dante-Stony Island) of Chicago. For his early childhood education Chris attended St. Felicitas Catholic School and graduated from James H. Bowen High School class of 1992. Chris later attended Kennedy King college. Sometime after, Chris met his wife Jo-Jo, they decided to move to Rockford IL in September of 1997 with their children. While residing in Rockford ,Chris became a Behavioral Therapist and was employed for organizations such as Janet Wattles and Rosecrance. He even worked as a home health-aid for Milestone Inc. He didn't just stop there, for over a decade Chris has been employed a bus-aid for children with disabilities for Sunrise, all while working his full time jobs. He also worked as a bouncer for a bar/liquor store called Central Park Tap.
Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory: Wife : Jo-Jo Brown; Children: Yolanda (YOLO), Breana ( Mouse/Musa), Lashawna (Cubby/ Lil MaMa); Step children: Yvette and Ramon (Mone); Bonus child: Kyle (KJ); Grandchildren: Kyana Ilise Sims( KK ) Myana Johana Sims (Rooster), Jayceon Lamonte Cruz(J- Bug), Daylen Christopher Warren( Day-Day); Step grandchildren: Deon Ross and Ramir Miner Bonus grandchildren: Kavia Sims, Kevion Sims; Siblings and their children: Adolph Brown Jr, Clarice Brown (Gwendolyn, Tiffany, Tracy), Rodney Brown (Salomon, Jessica), Veronica Brown, Roger Brown (Sherese, La'quinda), Nicholas Brown (Nicolette, Nadia ,Nicholas Jr); Bonus siblings: Michael Gomez (Big Mike), Quincy Wright (Quick), Rocheena Wright (Sis), Taurice Harris (TJ); Best friends : Ron Jackson( Dogg), Vern Mims, Flavio Crawford (Flav), Korbet Flynn.

Memorial Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at
Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. door will be open from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
