Cory was born on August 10, 1996, in
Chicago, Illinois, to Regina Burrage and Cory Wilson, Sr. From an early age, Cory showed us exactly who he was-outgoing, confident, and full of life. He had a natural gift for connecting with people, and wherever he went, he left behind a lasting impression that was warm, genuine, and unforgettable.
Cory attended Bowen High School, where he graduated in 2014. He was passionate about sports, especially football and wrestling. Wrestling was where Cory truly shined. He was a champion-winning multiple medals and earning respect for his strength, discipline, and determination. Sports weren't just something Cory did; they reflected who he was-focused, competitive, and driven to succeed.
After high school, Cory continued striving for more. He attended college, completing two years of higher education, and later served his country in the United States Army, from which he received an honorable discharge. Balancing education, military service, and fatherhood was no small task, but Cory carried these responsibilities with pride, strength, and perseverance.
Cory was also a dedicated and hardworking provider. For seven years, he was employed at Propulse, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment. He took pride in providing for his family and showing up each day with determination and purpose.
Above all else, Cory was an incredible father. His children were his heart, his motivation, and his greatest joy. He was a provider, an educator, a protector, and a role model-not only to his own children, but to every child and young person around him. Cory had a heart of gold, and it showed in the way he loved, taught, and supported those he cared about.
Cory was also deeply devoted to his family and friends. He was a loving brother, cousin, nephew, and a loyal friend who treated others like family. He shared a special bond with his fiancée, T,Keyah Garley, the mother of his children. Together, they shared love, growth, and the responsibility of building a family rooted in care and commitment.
Cory was preceded in death by his grandmother, Obbie Burrage, and his grandfather, Sam Wilson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Regina Burrage; his father, Cory Wilson, Sr.; his grandmother, Janet Wilson; his grandfather, John Burrage, Sr.; his fiancée, T'Keyah; and his children-Jamari, Cory III, and Kali. He is also survived by seven brothers, two sisters, two bonus brothers, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
Though Cory's time with us was far too short, his impact was powerful. His strength, his dedication, his laughter, and his unwavering love for his children will never be forgotten. We will carry Cory with us-in our hearts, in our memories, and in the stories we continue to tell.
We take comfort in knowing that Cory now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father, where there is no pain, no sorrow, and no more suffering-only eternal peace and everlasting love.
Rest peacefully, baby Cory. You are loved, you are missed, and you will forever remain a part of us.
