Christopher "Chris" Kenneth Campbell, 65, passed away on July 28, 2025, following a lengthy illness, with his wife by his side.

Chris was born on July 27, 1960 in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Phyllis Campbell and the late Kenneth Campbell. Chris married Janet Bryant in 1982, beginning their family a few years later.

Chris attended college at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. Following college, Chris worked for several cable TV companies in Tennessee, Florida, and Virginia. Chris went on to work as Managing Engineer for Scientific Atlanta and Cisco in Lawrenceville, GA. When he passed he was Director of Engineering for Encompass Digital Media in Atlanta, GA. Before commencing his position with Encompass Digital Media, Chris worked as a corporate engineer for Charter in Denver, Colorado.

As a young man, Chris enjoyed many adventurous activities such as white water rafting, rock climbing and rappelling. He later became involved in dirt bike riding with his son, and even participated in Motocross racing. He competed in Long Drive Golf competitions and was an avid Disc Golfer. Chris built a home woodworking shop where he loved spending time on projects for his family and friends.

Chris was a devoted man of God. He loved his church and was involved in many ministries. He served on the church board, worked with the youth, taught Sunday School, and lead Bible Study groups. One of his greatest passions in ministry was playing drums and percussion with the worship team.

There are people who simply want to do good work and help others do good work. Chris was one of those folks. He was a joy to work with and learn from. All who had a chance to spend time with him are saddened at his loss. Prayers to his family and the many that were blessed to call him their friend.

So sad to hear this. I´ve seen Chris win multiple longest drive competitions. He could smoke a driver with ease! Rest in peace good man.

This is hard to believe. I had the pleasure to work with Chris at Scientific Atlanta. He was always very helpful to our effort in supporting trade shows, including a last minute trip to support one when I had an emergency with my wife and could not go. I know Chris will be missed terribly. My deepest condolences to the family.
