Christopher Cardoza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCoy Funeral Home - Sweetwater on Nov. 28, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Christopher Cardoza, 33, passed away on November 26, 2025. He was a devoted husband to Sara Aguayo and a loving father to his two children, Liam Samuel and Christabell Faith Cardoza, who were the center of his world. His children were the pride and joy of his life. He worked hard, loved fiercely, and always put his family first.

He was raised in the Rio Grande Valley (South Texas) and graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 2011, where he formed lifelong friendships and memorable experiences. Although he was raised in the Rio Grande Valley, he found his true love, Sara, and made his forever home in Roscoe, Texas, where they built a beautiful family together.

He is also survived by his wife Sara Aguayo, to his two children, Liam Samuel and Christabell Faith Cardoza, his parents Cesario Barrera Jr. and Leticia Cardoza, and the cherished grandson of Juanita Cardoza, Belinda Olivarez Schwartz, and Wayne Schwartz, his aunts and uncles, Imelda (Brian)More, Flavio (Patty) Cardoza, Norma (Jaime) Ramirez, Fabian (Monique) Cardoza, Francisco (Cynthia) Barrera, Hugo (Carmina) Barrera, Christine (Justin) Nichols, his father and mother-in-law Jose S. Aguayo and Claudia Aguayo as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law: Salvador and wife, Anabel Aguayo, Maria and husband, Isidro Loya, Dionicio and wife, Dulce Aguayo, Jose Aguayo, Adan Aguayo, Isabel and husband, Roger Garza, Eva Aguayo, Rafael Aguayo, Clemente Aguayo, Vidal Aguayo, Jesus Aguayo, Eleazar Aguayo, and all of his beloved nieces and nephews.

He had a passion for grilling and cooking and was happiest when preparing meals for the people he loved. He enjoyed watching football and was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children, wrestling and boxing with his son and playing peek-a-boo with his daughter, his little princess, and nourishing the bond between father and child. He also had a special love for decorating his home, especially during the holidays. Christmas was his favorite time of the year, and he took great pride in hanging Christmas lights and creating a warm, festive atmosphere for his family.

He was known for his selflessness- he always put others before himself. He carried a big and generous heart. His kindness, patience, and warmth touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his children, his extended family, and all who were blessed to call him a brother and friend. Though his time with us feels far too short, the impact of his life will remain forever engraved in our hearts.

A Mass of Chistian Burial will take place at 11:00A.M. on Tuesday, December 2,2025 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (Holy Spirit Parish) in Sweetwater, TX with Father Josh Gray Officiating. A Prayer and Rosary will be held from 6:30-8:00pm on Monday December1,2025 at the McCoy Chapel of Memories at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater,TX.
