Christopher Kenneth Carter, age 52 of Estill Springs, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Chris was born on January 7, 1973, in Winchester to Claudia (Casteel) Carter and Charles Kenneth Carter. At an early age his father encouraged him to get a job while in high school at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, later he worked for Tennessee Tannery in Tullahoma. Chris was an adventurous person with a free spirit. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing baseball. Chris loved his Indian Heritage and enjoyed crafting walking sticks to represent his heritage. In his spare time, you could find him watching westerns, Nascar, or cheering on his favorite sport teams which included Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. But he cherished the time spent with family and friends the most. In addition to his father, Chris is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Randall Carter. He is survived by his mother, Claudia Carter; son, C.J. Carter; sister, Crystal Carter; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 2:30pm at Franklin Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
