Christopher "Chris" Cerreta, aged 41, passed away on December 19, 2025, in Bronx, NY. Born on December 6, 1984, in
Long Branch, New Jersey, Chris was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. He lived a life full of passion and creativity, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his beloved family and friends.
Chris spent his formative and adult years as a proud resident of Keansburg, where his presence was a constant source of warmth and familiarity.
Despite the loss of his parents, Joseph and Joanne Cerreta, and his nephew, Drew Keough, Chris's spirit never faltered. He continued to embrace life's journey with resilience and grace, cherishing every moment with those he held dear.
Chris is lovingly remembered by his son, William Puthe, who was the apple of his eye and his greatest pride and joy. His legacy of love and strength lives on through William, who will forever carry the lessons and memories of his father in his heart. Chris also leaves behind a caring family, including his brother, Joseph Cerreta and his partner Marcene Bernard, his brother, Matthew Cerreta, and his sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Ann and Joseph Pezzano. They, along with his uncles, aunts, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, will miss his infectious laughter, stoic spirit and dry witted sense of humor.
Professionally, Chris was a valued member of the SoHo Records team in New York, where he worked in maintenance. His colleagues knew him as a reliable and hardworking individual.
Art and music were the rhythms of Chris's soul. He had an incredible talent for drawing, and his artwork was a reflection of his inner creativity and perspective.
Music was his refuge and inspiration, and he could often be found lost in the melodies that moved him.
Above all, Chris's heart belonged to the precious moments spent with his son. Whether they were playing soccer or simply enjoying each other's company, these were the times that Chris treasured most.
Chris's life was a testament to the beauty of embracing one's passions and the importance of family. His departure from this world is not just a loss but also a reminder to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often, just as he did.
Though his physical presence is no longer with us, Christopher Cerreta's spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In keeping with Christopher's wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on January 17, 2026 for a Celebration of Life from 11AM to 2PM at Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals INC. 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg. A service will be held at 2PM at the funeral home, which will conclude the afternoon.
