Mark Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCall's Bronxwood Funeral Home on Feb. 16, 2026.
Mark Allen entered this world on December 5, 1965, at Morrisania Hospital in the Bronx, New York, born to the late George C. Allen and Janet Allen (Messia).

Growing up, Mark was an adventurous and spirited boy. He loved riding his bike, playing with animals, and exploring his neighborhood. From an early age, he had a deep fondness for animals, caring for a dog, a cat, and even gerbils.

Mark was educated in the New York City public school system and graduated from Harry S. Truman High School in the Bronx. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air National Guard, where he completed Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, graduating at the top of his class.

During his military service, Mark traveled the world, visiting countries including Spain, Germany, and England, as well as numerous U.S. states and territories. While stationed in Spain for an extended period, he became proficient in the Spanish language.

Mark began working at an early age and was a true jack of all trades, exploring several fields throughout his career. He ultimately retired from Riverbay Corporation as a supervisor after 16 years of dedicated service.

Among his many passions, Mark was an avid and highly experienced skier who enjoyed advanced trails. He also loved swimming and boxing. A true nature enthusiast, he cherished walks along the scenic trails by the bay and the Long Island Sound at Pelham Bay Park.

Mark was a beloved figure in his community. Often appearing quiet to strangers, his true personality shined through to those who knew him best. Once he warmed up to you, the jokes never stopped.

Mark leaves behind two children from previous relationships and one cherished grandson: his daughter, Monica Allen of Germantown, Maryland; his son, Aubrey Allen of the Bronx, New York; and his grandson, Ahmed Toure of Germantown, Maryland. He treasured the time he spent with his children and grandson.

After a 12-year relationship, Mark and his beloved girlfriend, Kim, were married in 2014. They shared a close and devoted bond and were rarely seen apart. They truly enjoyed each other's company and were a constant presence in one another's lives.

Mark departed this life on February 11, 2026, at the age of 60, with his wife by his side.

He was preceded in death by his father, George C. Allen. He leaves to mourn his memory: his loving wife, Kim Allen of the Bronx, New York; his mother, Janet Allen Smith of McDonough, Georgia; his children, Aubrey Allen of the Bronx and Monica Allen of Germantown, Maryland; his grandson, Ahmed Toure of Germantown, Maryland; his brother, Michael Allen (June) of the Bronx; his sister, Mornae Brodhead (Winzel) of Pennsylvania; his brother, Miles Johnson of Maryland; his brother-in-law, Nathan Carther of Virginia; and his sister-in-law, Shayla Sobers of North Carolina.

He will also be fondly remembered by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
