Christopher Crawford Tucker, age 38, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, March 15, 2024. He was born on October 7, 1985, in Macon, Georgia, to Herman Crawford Tucker, Jr. and Mary Ann Willis Tucker. Christopher was raised in both Valdosta, Georgia, and Misawa, Japan. He graduated from Edgren High School in Misawa, Japan in 2004. He returned to his family’s hometown of Byron, Ga to complete his technical education at Central Georgia Technical College.
He had a passion for dirt track racing and dedicated 15 years to the sport at Cochran Motor Speedway. Beyond racing, he found joy in outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and tinkering with machinery. Christopher served as a work leader and Aircraft Mechanic on C-17 at Robins Air Force Base. He was known for his willingness to assist anyone in need.
While Christopher did not have children of his own, he cherished his role as the fun uncle, treating all of the children as if they were his own. Christopher will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and love for his family.
Christopher was preceded in death by his papa, Herman Crawford Tucker, Sr; granny, Hazel Annette Tucker; nanny, Mary Kathleen Willis; and pop, Harold Mercer Willis.
His memory will forever be treasured by his parents, Herman Crawford Tucker, Jr. and Mary Ann Willis Tucker; sister and brother-in-law, Christy and Michael Gonzalez of Bonaire; niece and nephew, Sophia and Andrew Gonzalez; close cousins, Doug, Michael, and Joshua Kelley, all of Crawford Co.; former spouse, Tassie Wood Tucker of Warner Robins; stepson, Blaise Harbert; and granddaughter, Stella Rose; as well as many other beloved extended family members and friends.
A memorial gathering with Christopher’s family and friends will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Christopher Crawford Tucker will be laid to rest privately.
