Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Salisbury on Jul. 4, 2023.
Christopher James Ehinger, known lovingly by his friends and family as Ehinger, was born on September 27, 1983, in Salisbury. He left this world far too soon on July 1, 2023, in Mardela, following a tragic accident. Chris was a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, whose adventurous spirit, kind heart, and humor left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Chris graduated from Parkside High School and went on to establish a rewarding career as a Field Service Mechanic for United Rentals. He had previously been employed by Saturn of Salisbury and Price Buick. His dedication and hard work were admirable, and he was highly regarded by his colleagues. Chris was also an active member of the Moose Lodge, #456, in Salisbury, where he established many enduring friendships.
An outdoorsman at heart, Chris had an unquenchable love for nature and the water. He spent countless hours boating, crabbing, hunting, and fishing, always happiest when he was on the water. He was a man of many interests, but his passion for the outdoors was unmatched. His adventurous spirit was contagious, and he had a unique way of making even the most ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
Chris was a family man through and through. He is survived by his loving wife, Erika Ehinger, their three beautiful daughters, Jobie, Zoey, and MacKenzie who were the light of his life. Other survivors include his mother, Norma Morris and her husband, Rick, his sisters, Mandy and Shannon, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. His love for his family was evident in everything he did. Chris especially loved spending quality time with his wife and children. He was a rock for his family, always there with a reassuring smile, a warm hug, or a funny joke to lighten the mood. He was predeceased by his father, Franklin "Buddy" Ehinger, Jr.
Chris's sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities. He had a knack for making people laugh, even in the most challenging of times. His laughter was infectious, and his jokes will be dearly missed. He was also incredibly kind, always going out of his way to help others. His kindness was a beacon of light in the lives of many.
Chris will be remembered for his laidback personality, his unwavering kindness, and his unique sense of humor. His life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and laughter. He made the world a better place, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, at 3:00pm Wednesday July 5, 2023. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home.
