Christopher “Gage” Franklin, who was just 10 years old, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 13, 2015, at Duke University Medical Center, he was the beloved son of Christopher Frank Franklin and Melissa Carol James.
Despite the physical challenges he faced from an early age, Gage lived with incredible strength and a bright smile that touched everyone around him. He attended Highland Elementary, where he was adored by his teachers and found joy in simple pleasures, such as being read to, watching his favorite cartoons like “The Flintstones” and “Scooby- Doo”, and listening to classical music and calming soundscapes. Gage’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Gage is survived by his parents, his brother, Austin James Franklin, his maternal grandparents, Carol and Barry James, his paternal grandmother, Rosemary Morris and her companion, Ronnie Carroll, and his special aunt, Jennifer James Evans. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Furman Frank Franklin.
A gathering to celebrate Gage’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 3-5PM at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, with the family inviting visitors to their home during this challenging time.
Memorial contributions can be made to AuthoraCare Hospice at 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
