Christopher B. Garlasco of Englewood, Florida (formerly of Littleton, Colorado) passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 23, 2024. Born on December 12, 1954 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Jean and Christie Garlasco.
Chris grew up in Glastonbury, CT and at age nineteen moved to Colorado. Having the Rocky Mountains serve as his playground, he enjoyed many years of fishing, downhill skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
He was employed by Sundyne Corporation-Arvada Colorado. After 36 years of dedicated service, he retired in 2012 and with his wife, Marsha, moved to Englewood.
He was the quintessential fisherman who was passionate about fishing in the Gulf whether it be from the shores of Gasparilla Island, from his Hobie Pro-Angler kayak or taking a charter trip with Captain Dan Bourcier. His other hobbies included making colorful tie-dye T-shirts, building custom rods, molding fishing sinkers, tying fly-fishing flies and keeping the Old Florida Outdoor Center supplied with his hand-crafted shell fan pulls. He also enjoyed bicycle riding and playing Mah Jongg with the ladies.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marsha, his brothers Paul Garlasco and David Garlasco, his sisters Christiane (Jim) Treitman, Lynne (Greg) Walsh, Lisa Garlasco, and Catherine (Andrew) Martin and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the amazing staff at Total Therapy Englewood for keeping Chris mobile and to Nicole and Bobby Jo of Tidewell Hospice for providing such compassionate end of life care.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 770 Kilbourne Avenue, Englewood FL on Friday, January 31st at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to a charity of your choice.

One of our family memories is of the family picnics at our grandparents house, first in Hartford and then later years in Glastonbury. It was such fun having all the cousins together. In loving memory the Lambert family.

To know Chris was to love Chris. He was my husband, Barry, good friend for many years. A warrior. In my husbands' end of life, Chris was there encouraging, joking, advising and just being a good friend. He was so upbeat even while he was going through his disease and problems. I will always hold him in my heart.

Happy fishing, Chris and teach Barry how to catch a big one. May God bless you. Marsha, stay strong.

Always my love.....Linda
